America Online, in an effort to load web-pages quickly, comes with a built-in function that finds all images in a loading web page and "compresses" them. This means that the "compressed" graphics use less memory and are able to load faster, thus completing the web-page faster (and more conveniently for those not interested in clarity of graphics). But unfortunately, this leaves out those of us who appreciate the value of good images and graphics on the web. THE WORK-AROUND SOLUTION: 1. Go to the menu-bar and click "Members" 2. Scroll down and click "Preferences" 3. Click "WWW" 4. Click on the tab that says "Web Graphics" 5. Declick the "Compressed Graphics" checkbox 6. Click "OK" 7.
